About Me

I began my working career in 1990 as an aerobics instructor and personal trainer.  In 1996, I gained a 1st class degree in Sport and Exercise Science, followed by a  Masters (MSc) in Human Nutrition.  After being awarded a Registered Nutritionist status, I remained in the world of nutrition for almost 20 years. Alongside my working career, I competed as a swimmer, runner and triathlete. In my early 30's I went to my first yoga class. I was both challenged, and truly humbled. Yoga knocked me sideways, and I fell in love with this incredible mind-body discipline. After studying and practising several styles of yoga over the years, I now practise, and teach a blend of Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin Yoga. I am also trained in Breathwork.

" Yoga is, and ultimately becomes, an intimate, lifelong friendship with your body and self. Yoga teaches self-respect, self-care, and self-love. Through the consistent practice of yoga, you learn vital lessons that you can take off the mat, and into your life." Lucy-Ann

"Yoga is not about touching your toes. It is about what you learn on the way down." Unknown

My love for, and interest in yoga later led me to study Ayurveda (the Indian philosophy of Natural Medicine), and I trained as an Ayurvedic Diet and Lifestyle Practitioner in 2006. This deepened my knowledge of natural health and wellbeing, and how to live more in tune with the natural rhythms of life. I integrated my knowledge of nutritional science with Ayurveda, understanding the use of food, spices and herbs for overall  health, as well as anti-ageing nutrition,  women’s health, and nutrition for healthy digestive function.

After moving to Cornwall, I changed direction, and decided to become a yoga teacher. I completed the Yoga Standards Alliance’s 200-hour training programme with a Registered Yoga School (RYS) to attain my RYS 200 Yoga Alliance teacher training certificate. I have since completed further trainings, including an in-depth 25 hour yoga training with renowned international Yoga Instructor, Schuyler Grant, and am currently completing my 300hr Advanced Teaching Training Certificate.

I teach regular weekly yoga classes in Wadebridge and Padstow, North Cornwall, focusing on yoga for health, and everyday functional strength.

I am also co-founder, and one half of "Rose & Glow" (www.roseandglow.co.uk), a wellness company that offers wellness experiences and retreats for women.

When not teaching yoga, I am probably out hiking the SW coastal path with my dog, Samson.
