🌟 So Hum — A Mantra for Modern Life

So Hum is a mantra I return to again and again — simple, grounding, and profoundly meaningful.

A mantra is a word or phrase repeated to focus the mind. It’s a way to steady your thoughts, calm your nervous system, and reconnect with something deeper than the noise of everyday life.

So Hum translates to: “I am that. I am all, all is within. All guides and protects me.”

It’s a mantra of oneness — a reminder that we are not separate from life, but part of something vast, wise, and interconnected. In a world that constantly tells us to strive, improve, compare, and push harder, So Hum invites us to soften and remember:

  • You are already whole, and already enough.

  • You are already connected to the world, and those around you.

  • You are already guided and always supported.

Why it matters today   Modern life can make us feel scattered or not enough. We’re pulled in a hundred directions, often forgetting to check in with ourselves. So Hum becomes a gentle anchor — a way to return to your centre, even in the middle of a busy day.

How to use it   This mantra pairs beautifully with the breath:

  • Inhale: So

  • Exhale: Hum

Let the rhythm settle your mind. Let the meaning remind you of your inner strength and belonging. Let the practice reconnect you with the part of yourself that is steady, wise, and whole.

Whether you’re on your mat, walking outside, or simply pausing between tasks, So Hum can be a powerful companion on your wellness journey — a quiet reminder that everything you seek is already within you.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Kate Bickford

"I thought I’d done yoga before but it is a whole new wonderful experience with Lucy-Ann. I absolutely love her classes. Her knowledge is immense, not just of the yoga postures, but combined with her anatomical knowledge she is fabulously equipped to help advanced or complete beginners."

Donna Petterson

"Lucy-Ann's yoga classes are exceptional. Her knowledge, care and teaching experience provide reassurance, guidance and encouragement. I started with no yoga experience whatsoever, and now, 4 years in, yoga has become a vital part of my life, self-care, fitness and wellbeing. She is truly an inspirational Yoga Teacher."

Dr Rhys Bullman

"I thought stiff joints were  just part of ageing, but when I began to struggle with simply bending down and doing my shoelaces up, I knew I had to do something. I found yoga, and have never looked back. Lucy-Ann's classes are both challenging and wonderfully satisfying. Her teaching, and attention to all her students is commendable."
